Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 27HB9M/U1 touchscreen readable in direct sunlight?

Yes. The 27 Inch Touchscreen Metal (High-Brightness) provides 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness for clear visibility in direct sunlight and other high-ambient-light conditions. An integrated ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen brightness as ambient light levels change and can dim the display when inactive. Brightness can also be adjusted manually using the included remote control.

Is the 27HB9M/U1 weather-resistant for outdoor installations?

Yes. The 27 Inch Touchscreen Metal (High-Brightness) is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. When panel-mounted, the touchscreen’s integrated sealing gasket seals against the mounting surface, creating an IP66-rated front that protects against dust and water. This allows the front of the touchscreen to be exposed to outdoor conditions while the rear electronics and connections remain enclosed within the installation.

Can the 27HB9M/U1 be integrated into an enclosure or panel?

Yes. The 27 Inch Touchscreen Metal (High-Brightness) is designed specifically for panel-mounted installations. It includes mounting clips that secure the touchscreen directly into an enclosure or panel, while its fanless, passively cooled design allows it to operate without internal fans or other moving parts. Detailed dimensions, mounting points, and installation measurements are provided in the downloadable 2D and 3D drawings under Product Specifications.

Can the 27HB9M/U1 be used in dusty or humid environments?

Yes. The 27 Inch Touchscreen Metal (High-Brightness) is designed for reliable operation in environments where dust and humidity may be present. Its rugged metal enclosure provides a durable housing, while the conformal-coated PCB provides additional protection against moisture, dust, and other environmental contaminants. The IK08-rated tempered glass surface provides increased resistance to impact, and an MTBF of 50,000 hours supports reliable, long-term operation.

Can condensation or dust build up behind the screen of the 27HB9M/U1?

No. The 27 Inch Touchscreen Metal (High-Brightness) is optically bonded, which means the space between the LCD and the tempered-glass front is completely filled with a transparent adhesive. Because there is no air gap, there is no space where moisture or dust can collect. This prevents the fogging, condensation, and dust build-up between the LCD and front glass that can occur in air-gap displays.
